Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2013 The subsidiary of the Jakarta Regional Owned Enterprise (BUMD), PT JakLingko Indonesia, is reviewing the integrated fare scheme for the Commuter Line (KRL) to join other mass transportation modes.<\/p>

\u201cFor the study, there is already a scenario that includes the KRL, and we will follow up on this later,\u201d said the President Director of JakLingko Indonesia, Muhammad Kamaluddin, in Jakarta, Wednesday.<\/p>

Nevertheless, JakLingko and the Jakarta Transportation Agency are currently focusing on the trial implementation of the integrated fare for six months until December 2022.<\/p>

However, Kamaluddin added that his party remains committed to following up on the study that includes the KRL after the evaluation of the integrated fare trial period for the three public transport modes.<\/p>

\u201cWe will commit to following up, but perhaps we will see the results in December or early next year,\u201d Kamaluddin added.<\/p>

Even so, he admitted that until now there has been no discussion with the Ministry of Transportation regarding the discourse of including the KRL in the integrated fare.<\/p>

He added that in a number of countries, for example under the auspices of the G20, integrated fares have been implemented for all modes of public transportation.<\/p>

The hope is that this can be a consideration for the government to include the KRL in the integrated fare scheme.<\/p>

\u201cIf you look at the countries in the G20, other cities also mostly have fares integrated for all modes, so hopefully this can be a basis for consideration for the Ministry of Transportation later to consider our study,\u201d said Kamaluddin.<\/p>

Currently, the Jakarta Provincial Government is conducting a trial of the integrated fare for three modes of public transportation using the JakLingko application with a maximum fare of Rp10,000.<\/p>

During this trial period, Kamaluddin added that there has been a positive response from the public.<\/p>

\u201cThe response is quite positive and all citizens who use the JakLingko application feel the benefits of a more economical fare,\u201d said Kamaluddin.<\/p>

In line with Kamaluddin, the Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, also hopes that the KRL can become part of the integrated fare along with the three mass transportation modes in Jakarta, namely LRT, MRT, and TransJakarta.<\/p>
